Acho Dene Native Crafts, Fort Laird, NT: Mixed Media
Acho Dene Native Crafts (ADNC) began operations in 1976 with products currently produced by over 60 cottage producers living in the region. The ADNC purchases traditional native arts and crafts from local producers and sells them on line and through its retail store in Fort Liard, Northwest Territories, Canada. The products are made using a blend of ancestral techniques and themes of the aboriginal people of the area. Traditional, natural and local materials are used, including birch bark, spruce roots, red willow, moose hide and porcupine quills to make birch bark baskets, jewellery, moccasins, mittens and other souvenirs.
